6 Morning Hacks To Live By

Even the most die-hard morning people find that the struggle is real.

Making the most out of your time in the morning ensures you’re starting the day off on a positive note. It’s a matter of fact that every #bossbabe has a morning routine. If you’re a serial alarm snoozer, it’s time to learn some new habits to make the most of your mornings. Start your day earlier and be your most productive self with some simple yet game changing life hacks. You’ll be a self-proclaimed morning person in no time.

1. Prepare for your AM in the PM
The best way to get productive in the a.m. is to get organised. Spend a quick 15-30 minutes in the evenings planning your morning. This may include prepping your breakfast and lunch, thinking about what you might wear to work as well as setting your alarm for a time that ensures you have enough time to get a coffee before you sit down at your desk for the day.

2. Change your alarm ringtone
Are you using one of your phones default sounds as your alarm clock? Is it possibly the most painful sound that you hear all day? If you answered yes to all of the above, you need to change your alarm tone immediately. Start your day off with a little more calm (and less anger) with a sound that you actually enjoy. This could include your favourite song or some more zen-inducing sounds like crashing ocean waves (this ones our personal fave).

3. Exercise in the morning
There is no better way to start your day than with a hit of endorphins. If you’re not a gym person, go for a walk around the block and enjoy some fresh air instead (also great for the soul). If you’re feeling particularly sluggish, try getting a few minutes of stretching in from the comfort of your bedroom. No complicated yoga routines necessary. Moving your body in the morning will help get blood flowing throughout your body while also stimulating your mind and giving you a boost of energy. The best part is that you don’t have to drag yourself to the gym after work.

4. Avoid technology
A good morning is routine is much easier to stick to when you’ve had a good nights sleep. Try to minimise the time you spend on your phone within the hour before sleep as well as first thing in the morning. Avoiding electronic devices and their artificial light will not only help you fall asleep better, but will also help you have a deeper sleep. Do the same thing in the morning and after a week of this new habit you’ll be jumping out of bed.

5. Take a cold shower
While it doesn't sound like a lot of fun, there are many benefits of having a cold shower. Even if it's only for a minute before you jump out. A cold shower in the morning will not only help wake you up but also improve your circulation. The cold water is also great for your skin and hair and is said to be better than a coffee when it comes to kick starting your day. While that part is debatable, we still very much approve the cold shower.

6. Multitasking beauty
Simplify your morning routine with multitasking beauty products. The Bali Body BB Cream is the ultimate product for maximum benefit with minimal effort. The hydrating beauty balm combines your moisturiser, skincare, foundation and SPF all in one. In this order: wash face, brush teeth, comb hair, apply BB Cream, apply mascara and you’re ready to go.

On average it takes around 8 weeks for a new behaviour to become a habit. Stick to these simple morning hacks and you can start enjoying your mornings rather than dreading them. For an extra push ask Siri to play “Morning Motivation” on Spotify.
