Calm sensitive skin with these simple hacks

Redness and flareups killing your vibe? It’s time to update your skincare regime
Calm sensitive skin with these simple hacks

Does your skin sometimes feel tight and itchy or resemble a ripe tomato? Then chances are you have sensitive skin. Understanding your skin type better equips you in knowing what products will help your skin live its best life. We have four simple skin hacks to help your sensitive skin be your MVP as you battle through the final days of Euro winter.

Say no to exfoliating

Your skin is sensitive babe, it should be treated with the utmost care. Rubbing a gritty exfoliator onto your skin will only result in one thing… redness. And that's exactly what we're trying to avoid. We recommend choosing an extremely gentle and natural exfoliant on the skin to remove dead skin cells. The remedy might already be in your kitchen, fruit. Yes you heard right. Fruit contains a whole lot of antioxidants and natural acids that are perfect for skin rejuvenation. One of our fave fruity exfoliator combos is strawberry and coconut oil. Just combine 1 cup of crushed strawberries and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Stir well. Then apply to your body. Viola! Exfoliated skin without the nitty gritty.

Use SPF

Think of your skin as a diamond, it’s precious and your most prized possession. Protection from the UV RAYS for sensitive skin types is a must. Unfortunately, incorporating SPF into your skincare can be a hassle for babes with sensitive skin. Most supermarket sunscreens are filled with nasty chemicals that trigger irritation and redness instead of providing protection. What you need is a breathable, lightweight and natural sun protecting option. Try our Moisturising Sunscreen for your body and our BB Cream with SPF15 on your face. Like all Bali Body products, these 2 are enriched with natural, soothing and calming ingredients, perfect for sensitive skin. We’re talking vitamin E, rosehip oil, shea butter and jojoba oil. Say goodbye to sun protection with a side of irritation.

Babe tested

When searching for your next skin saviour, make sure to look for the little bunny. Vegan products are produced without any harm to animals and don't contain any animal ingredients. Many common animal ingredients used in skincare include beeswax and lanolin (which is the grease from sheep’s wool… I don't know about you but we already started itching.) The best way to avoid these products is simply to buy vegan. Vegan products are derived from plant ingredients and contain more vitamins, minerals and antioxidant to repair, soothe and hydrate sensitive skin. Rest easy knowing all Bali Body products are 100% vegan and 100% tested on BB babes with sensitive skin only.

Hold the fragrance

Lathering your skin in scented moisturisers may feel super luxe, but the harsh reality is that artificial fragrances cause irritation to the skin. Research has shown that fragrances in skincare products are among the most common cause of redness and itchiness. Fragrance isn't a chemical, however some ingredients in a fragrance can be allergens that aggravate skin. For babes with sensitive skin, we recommend choosing products that are fragrance free or have natural fragrance. All Bali Body products are made free from artificial fragrance and parabens. We've got you babe.
