Between your 9am to 5pm grind, weekly vino’s with the girls and Netflix binges, it can be hard to manage 8 hours of shut-eye every night.
Sometimes when life gets in the way, sleep is the first thing that gets compromised. Lack of sleep for days on end leads to our skin looking anything but fresh in the morning. While an extra large almond latté may perk you up, the dark circles under your eyes are a dead giveaway. Luckily, there are a few makeup hacks that will help you fake a full night's sleep and we’re here to give you the low down. You’re welcome babes.
Curl your lashes
If you're the kind of babe that has to hit snooze a couple of times every morning before finally surfacing, this quick hack to brighter, fresher looking eyes is for you. When our lashes are upturned and curled, our eyes appear open and awake (even if they’re not at all). To cure a serious case of tired eyes, walk the curler up from the root of your lash all the way to the tip by pressing and pulsing over the lash until you reach the end. Follow with a layer of lengthening and volumising mascara for an instant “I woke up like this” result. At BB HQ we are obsessed with tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara.
Give me brow
One of the best ways to trick everyone into thinking you turned the lights off well before midnight is defined and contoured brows. Full brows not only lift your eyelids and look fire, but they will also draw unwanted attention away from dark eye circles. Firstly, brush brows upwards with a spoolie brush to achieve the shape you’d like. Then using your fave pencil or powder, use short feathery strokes to fill your brows.
Wear blush
Nothing will distract the shadows from underneath your eyes quite like a pop of colour. When choosing a blush opt for one with rosy, pink hues. Not only will it make you look super snatched but opting for a pink will make you look fresh, vibrant and more importantly, awake. Avoid shades that have an orange undertone as they can make your eyes look more fatigued, no babe has time for that. A sweep of NARS Orgasm Blush after you have applied your Bali Body BB Cream can make all the difference to a tired complexion. Fresh face, who dis?
Light lips
MYTH: Wearing a dark, vampy lip will distract and draw attention away from your exhausted complexion.
FACT: Dark lip colours can age the face as well as draw attention to the dark circles that have come out to play. Opting for a lipstick or liner that's a few shades rosier than your natural lip colour is the way to achieving a natural, rested, fresh-looking face. Similarly, a touch of shining gloss on top of your lipstick can create the illusion of a more youthful, fresh appearance. Add a natural lip colour with a touch of Coconut Lip Balm and you’re ready to go.
Refresh Your Face
Two must-have products for a seriously fresh face are concealer and a good face mist. Concealer is the holy grail of all makeup products to hide tired eyes. The magic of a concealer is all in the name, it gives dark under eye circles just the right amount of coverage to conceal them, creating a "I fell asleep at 8pm last night" kind of illusion. We recommend pairing your fave concealer with a refreshing face mist for serious fresh faced goals (hint: Bali Body Hydrating Face Mist). Not only will our Hydrating Face and Body Mist restore glow and revive a fatigued face but it’s the equivalent to giving your skin a cold glass of water with an instant fresh spritz. It's a bottle full of cooling and calming ingredients to ensure you’re radiant, fresh and glowing from the get-go. The Bali Body Face Mist also contains glycerin which will ensure your makeup lasts the entire day with no touch ups required. Because concealer that melts away from the eyes is not cute. Now that’s what we call a life saver.
