What sort of DHA is in the Bali Body tan?

The Bali Body Self Tan is made with 100% Natural DHA.

Does the Bali Body tan contain sulphates or parabens?

No, all products within the Bali Body Self Tan range are completely free from sulphates and parabens to ensure they are as natural as possible.

How many applications can I get from one bottle of the Bali Body tan?

This really depends on how you use the product and how many coats you apply. Generally speaking, you will get approximately 6-8 full body applications per bottle of Self Tanning Mousse.

Applying your Self Tan

How do I apply the Bali Body self tan for best results?

For best results the Self Tanning Mousse should be applied using our Luxe Tanning Mitt to ensure a smooth, streak free tan. Apply a pea size amount of Luxe Moisturising Lotion to all dry areas of the body (hands, elbows, knees and feet) then apply the fake tan in long sweeping motions starting from the ankles up.

What is the best way to prep my skin for a Bali Body tan?

Exfoliate - Your self tan colour sits on the top layer of skin so it’s really important that your skin has been exfoliated to ensure a flawless smooth colour. We recommend exfoliating at least once in the 24-48 hours before you plan on tanning.

Hair removal - To ensure your tan lasts, we recommend that any shaving, waxing or other hair removal procedures are done at least 24 hours prior to self tanning to give your pores time to close. It’s important to note that shaving or waxing after your tan may remove your colour slightly.

Hydrate - Fake tan will often grab to dry areas of the skin, so a hydrated and moisturised base will ensure a natural even glow all round. We recommend moisturising daily with either our Luxe Moisturising Lotion or Natural Tanning & Body Oil in the lead up to your fake tan application.

Clean skin - A clean, dry blank canvas is optimal before applying the Bali Body tan. Ensure you have no leftover deodorant or perfume on your skin as this can alter the self tan colour during application on the places it is present on your skin.

How can I get a natural looking finish on my hands, knees and feet?

To avoid any unwanted tan build up in dry areas like hands, elbows, knees, ankles and feet we recommend applying a pea size amount of the Luxe Moisturising Lotion immediately prior to applying tan on these areas. This will help create a barrier between your skin and the tan and help to achieve an even looking finish.

Can I use the Bali Body self tan on my face?

The Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse is safe to use on your face, however we recommend the Face Tan Water for best results.

Do I need a self tan applicator mitt to apply the Bali Body tan?

You do not need a mitt to apply the Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse, however we recommend using our Luxe Tanning Mitt for best results. The applicator mitt ensures a steak free and even tanning application while keeping your hands stain free. The Bali Body tanning mitt is incredibly soft with a velvet like feel and can be washed under warm soapy water and re-used again.

How long do I leave the Bali Body tan on before showering?

We recommend leaving the Bali Body tan on for 1-3 hours for a light tan, 3-6 hours for a medium tan and 6-8 hours (overnight) for a dark tan.

Maintaining your Self Tan

How long will my Bali Body self tan last?

The Bali Body tan will last 5-7 days when used in conjunction with a daily application of the Luxe Moisturising Lotion.

Can I swim once I have applied my Bali Body Self Tan Mousse?

Yes, you can swim, however any additional water exposure on the skin will reduce the longevity of your fake tan.

Does the Bali Body self tan protect me from U.V exposure?

No, the Bali Body self tan will not protect you from U.V exposure. Please ensure you use SPF on top of your fake tan when skin is exposed to the sun.

How can I maintain my Bali Body fake tan for as long as possible?

Simple steps can be taken to ensure your tan lasts as long as possible, these include: Avoiding shaving and waxing - Avoiding hot saunas, spas and steam rooms - Avoiding skin exfoliation - Avoiding excessive sweating (gym) - Limiting time in the ocean and swimming pools

How does the Bali Body self tan come off my skin?

After at least 3 days you can also use the Bali Body Self Tan Remover to remove any fake tan product build up from the skin.

Can I use Self Tan?

I have sensitive skin, should I do a patch/skin test before?

The Bali Body tan is enriched with natural oils and nourishing ingredients so it is suited for sensitive skin. If you are worried, we recommend doing a patch test on a small amount of skin 24 hours ahead of your planned fake tan application.

Can I use the Bali Body tan if I have eczema?

Due to its natural properties, including 100% DHA the Bali Body self tan can be used on skin disorders such as eczema. If you’re prone to breakouts we recommend doing a patch test on the skin to check for skin sensitivity.

Is the Bali Body fake tan safe to use if I am pregnant?

Generally speaking, all fake tan products are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding (we suggest avoiding the breast area if you’re lactating). The Bali Body fake tan is made with 100% Natural DHA and contains no sulphates or parabens, making it even more safe to use when pregnant. If you’re unsure in any way we highly recommend consulting with your doctor or doing a spot test to ensure you don't have any reactions due to pregnancy hormones.
